When are check-in and check-out times?
Guests are welcome to arrive between 4 PM – 6 PM.
Check-out is at 11 AM.
What if I can’t make it during that window?
If you arrive outside of the check-in window, contact our Innkeepers directly to make alternative plans.
Do you offer a AAA discount?
Unfortunately, we do not.
Where should I park?
When you arrive, you are welcome to pull up to the round drive that leads to the front doors for check-in. From there, an Innkeeper will direct you to our guest parking area.
What do I need to provide at check-in?
As you enter the inn, an innkeeper will greet you, review your stay’s details, and confirm your payment method for any remaining charges.
Do you have an elevator?
We do not have an elevator. Guests who cannot navigate stairs are encouraged to book our main-level rooms, Mira or Polaris.
Do you allow children?
Our Inn is an adult destination. To request an exception to our 18-year-and-over policy, please contact our front desk. Depending on travel dates and other circumstances, exceptions may be made but are not guaranteed.
Is there a minimum night requirement?
We have a two-night minimum required on weekends. Occasional flex nights are available. Please call the innkeeper to inquire. Single-night stays are available mid-week.
What is your pet policy?
Service animals are welcome by law. A service animal is a dog that is individually trained to work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA. Service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered. Damage caused by a service animal will incur a minimum $100 charge for repair/cleaning, up to the total amount required to restore the room to its prior condition.
If you plan on bringing a service dog, you must call the Innkeeper in advance to make proper arrangements.
Do you offer horse riding or lessons?
All of the horses in our stables are privately owned and boarded and not available for lessons. You are welcome to stroll by the paddocks, but we ask that you observe all posted signs.
Are you in Suttons Bay?
We are located approximately 3.5 miles south of downtown Suttons Bay.
Do you have water views?
Each room overlooks a unique part of our 160-acre estate, including stables and pastures, peaceful woods, and vineyards. However, the top of our vineyard offers some water views.
Do you have a car charging station?
Yes! We partner with organizations, such as Tesla, to provide energy-efficient charging systems for low or zero-emission vehicles. It is not a super charger.

“Another successful experience”
“The Inn at Black Star Farms was easily one of my favorite destination vacation stays ever. Everything about this place is 5 star, from the chef-prepared breakfast in the morning to the guest happy hour. We were warmly greeted as soon as we entered the Inn. They make you feel like family.”
“Speechless”
“It is just as delightful in the Winter as it is in the summer! Instead of hiking the trails, we snow shoed. And the inn covered in snow is a sight to see! Our favorite part of our stay is of course the amazing wine and the scrumptious breakfast! Each time it gets even better.”
