This year marks our silver anniversary, and to honor this milestone, we plan to celebrate with special offers throughout 2023. In 1998, our co-founding partners, Kerm Campbell and Don Coe, along with head winemaker Lee Lutes, had the vision to create a world-class wine-country destination. Today, that goal has been far exceeded, and our business now includes a highly acclaimed Inn, plus extensive culinary and special events programs.
Our success would not have been possible without our hard-working team, our faithful fans, dedicated wine club members, and repeat Inn guests, to name a few.
In appreciation, we will offer new ways to enjoy Black Star Farms throughout the year. A new sparkling wine release, unique wine-tasting options, creative dining experiences, and family-friendly fall wagon rides are just some exciting things we have in store.

DJ Trivia is not just a game; it’s an experience! Widely featured in t0p restaurants and bars nationwide, DJ Trivia brings a live, interactive element to the traditional trivia night. Our live DJ host will present a range of mind-bending categories, including Movies, History, Music, TV, Science, and more.

NEW Sunday Brunch on the Farm
Join us at the newly-imagined Bistro Polaris at Black Star Farms Suttons Bay for a special three-course farm-fresh brunch. Our motto is a Sunday well spent brings a week of content!
Choose a starter, entrée, and dessert from the brunch menu, including breakfast and lunch options. Coffee, juice, mimosas, and wines by the glass/carafe will be available for an additional cost. The all-new menu highlights Estate Chef John Korycki’s years of experience with global cuisine while featuring fresh local ingredients from our own and area farms.

Enjoy live music while you dine! Zack Meyers is a seasoned live musician with over a decade of experience who brings a diverse range of musical styles, including Jazz, R&B, Pop, and Rock. Recently returning from Kalamazoo, where he shared his musical talents and imparted his knowledge through teaching music and theater, Zack now invites you to experience his cool vibes and smooth sounds at Bistro Polaris, which is now open year-round.
NEW Mozzarella Making Workshop
Sunday, December 3, and Sunday, January 14, at 3 PM
Learn the art of hand-stretched mozzarella! The skilled cheesemakers from Leelanau Cheese will demonstrate how to craft this satisfying fresh cheese from local milk and a handful of basic ingredients. The secrets of this gastronomical wonder will unfold as you learn to hand stretch curd and form bocconcini, string cheese, and delicate burrata. After class, taste your mozzarella two ways: fresh with extra virgin olive oil and seasonal condiments and baked on a Neapolitan-style Margherita pizza from our wood-fired oven. In addition to the mozzarella you make in class, you’ll take home a rock-solid, repeatable recipe for home production. Tickets include one glass of wine. More wine may be purchased onsite for an additional cost.

Get a taste of the Alps as our expert from Leelanau Cheese Company guides you through a carefully curated selection from the mountains of Western Europe paired perfectly with Black Star Farms wine. This is your chance to stimulate your tastebuds with the magic of wine and cheese pairing while learning about the unique traditions and incredible history of Alpine-style cheeses.
NEW Traditional Raclette Dinner
Friday, December 8, and Friday, January 19, at 6 PM
Join us at Bistro Polaris with our friends from Leelanau Cheese Company as we honor this delicious tradition. Before dinner, enjoy a brief discussion on the history of Raclette, learn how it’s produced, and the processes Leelanau Cheese employs to maintain its high standards in cheesemaking. Dinner will be a casual affair with open seating. As you eat and mingle, you can chat with one of the cheesemakers, ask questions, and purchase their award-winning Raclette.
